Important Concepts in this Chapter
Verses 2-6
The foretelling of Romeâs victory over the Persians occurs in the first few verses of this chapter. This concealed information is expressive of the Holy Quranâs Divinity and miraculous nature. Furthermore, it is strongly indicative of it being a revelation from Allah. [6]
Verse 30
This verse hints towards intrinsic unity. [7]
Verses 20-37, 40-43, 48-52 and 54
These verses mention the signs of the Oneness of Allah and the Day of Judgement. They start by counting the Divine signs in order to prove Allahâs unity. [8] Next, they identify Allahâs characteristics from His attributes of action, and through doing this, all possible partners alongside their divinity and lordship are rejected. [9]
Verses 55-60
The final verses of this chapter describe the state of the guilty people on the Day of Judgement due to their lack of faith in the Hereafter. After being resurrected, these individuals will feel that the time between their deaths and resurrection was extremely short. [10]

Al-Bukhari narrates that Abu al-Yaman narrated to me from Shuayb, from Abu al-Zinad, from Al-Araj, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger that: âAllah said: âThe descendants of Adam denied Me, and they had no right to do so; and they hated Me, and they had no right to do so. Verse 30: âSo set your heart on the religion as a people of pure faith, the origination of Allah according to which He originated mankind (There is no altering Allahâs creation; that is the upright religion, but most people do not know).â

Abu Hurayrah narrates from the Prophet of Allah that: âHeaven has one hundred levels. What is between every two levels is just like what is between the sky and the earth. The highest level is called firdaws. The middle level is called mahallah. The rivers in heaven spring forth from there.â Then, a man stood up and said, âO Prophet of Allah, I am most certainly a man who loves voices. So, will there for pleasant voices for me in heaven?â The Prophet replied: âI swear by the One who has my soul in His hands, surely Allah, the Exalted has revealed to a tree in heaven, âHave My worshippers who have kept busy with worshipping Me and remembering Me - listen to the sounds of hymns and chants.â Then, it will raise its voice glorifying Allah in a way which no creation has ever heard like it before.â [16]
